Steve Harvey’s 23-year-old stepdaughter Lori has avoided jail time after accepting a plea deal over her hit-and-run case.
In January, Lori Harvey was charged with hit-and-run after allegedly ramming into a parked vehicle with her Mercedes G-Wagon before leaving the scene on foot.
Following moments after the crash which took place in October last year, the 23-year-old reportedly tried to walk away from the scene before getting stopped by the police.
“She identified herself properly and signed a written promise to appear in court,” a spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman confirmed.
While waiting with the police, Lori was allegedly seen talking to her celebrity stepfather Steve Harvey via FaceTime.
After the incident, the influencer, who has over 2.3 million followers on Instagram, was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run and delaying a police investigation.
While she maintained her innocence over both charges for months, Lori reportedly took a plea deal that helped her avoid jail time. According to TMZ, the 23-year-old has been sentenced to two years of probation after agreeing to plead “no contest to one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.”
Besides closely documenting her self-isolation, Harvey has recently made the news for breaking up with the rapper Future. Since the two parted ways, the young influencer has been rumored to be dating Abou ‘Bu’ Thiam, Akon’s brother.
Since the hit-and-run incident, the 23-year-old was also seen posing next to her luxurious Mercedes and a Bentley convertible in her Instagram snaps. She has recently also been vocal about the 2020 presidential race as she urged her fans to vote.
