The Queen’s coffin has been lowered into the Royal Vault.
According to local media outlets, the Queen has been buried in the Royal Vault, where her beloved husband and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, is buried. This is at the St. George’s Chapel.
The news comes as King Charles mourns with the royal family at the Windsor Castle committal service.
Viral images of the King leaving St. George’s Chapel after seeing the Queen for the last time have gone viral online. Many dubbed the image as truly heartbreaking as it was the final farewell as he began his reign as the leading monarch of the UK.
As the coffin was being lowered inside the Royal Vault at St. George’s Chapel, the Dean of Windsor was seeing reciting Psalm 103. The traditional lines, ‘Go forth upon thy journey from this world.’
In the same way, he was seen offering the commendation, which is another term reserved for a prayer in which the deceased is entrusted to God’s mercy.
After that, the Garter King of Arms then pronounced the styles as well as the titles for the Queen.
Similar passages were read at state funerals of many other royal family members, like the Queen’s father and her grandparents.
The Queen’s crown, orb, and Sceptre were removed from the Queen’s coffin right before her coffin was seen being lowered into the Royal vault.
