It’s just been a few moments since the Queen’s coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault, and now a new trend has begun regarding the battle for the world’s most controversial diamond of all time- the Kohinoor.
According to local media outlets, Indians have begun a new dispute on who they’d like the Kohinoor returned to their nation because that is where the famous crowned jewel belongs.
For those who may not be aware, it is not only the biggest but also the most controversial diamond in the world. And now, India says they’re not letting this jewel go by any means.
The jewel can be found inside the Queen’s crown, and it will now be passed on to the Queen Consort, Camilla.
But local media outlets claim the debate did not stem from now, it’s been a battle for decades, and it started taking center stage as soon as the Queen’s death was announced by Buckingham Palace last week.
Even plenty of reports spoke about the Queen being sued by Indians in the past as they honestly felt that she had stolen the precious jewel for them and it needed to be returned to them.
The majority of the demands coming forward now had to do with Indian users on Twitter who felt that their demands were not incorrect and they’ve waited too many years to see this day.
They were awfully insensitive about the prized possession that belongs to the royal family and is currently on display at the Tower of London,
The Kohinoor means ‘mountain of light’ in the Persian language, and it’s a mega gemstone that’s around 105 carats in size.
We’ve seen plenty of battles regarding its possession between India and Pakistan, and after the Queen’s passing, the mega debate is trending online again.
