Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari, 29, has finally spoken out after their split and said that he cherishes nothing but fond memories.
The couple got married in June 2022 before they have decided to separate ways in August 2023.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the actor and model had nothing but positive things to say about their time together.
“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” Asghari expressed.
Even though he filed for divorce from the 42-year-old singer, he explained that he bears no grudge towards his ex-wife.
“I’ve always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] — so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other,” the actor says.
“That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that’s always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life,” he insisted.
Asghari is now focused maintaining his ‘healthy lifestyle’ and career.
He also told the news outlet how he used to think that people in their 30s were so old.
“But every person I talk to, the older they get, the more they get to enjoy life because with age comes wisdom and experiences,” he continued.
Asghari also explained that his experiences in life, including his divorce from Spears, have shaped him into the man he is today.
“I will continue growing. I come from a place where we celebrate our past,” he said. “I look back fondly. My past was a blessing and beautiful.”
