Making a movie is not an easy thing as it takes a lot of hard work.
When the actors themselves disrupt the smooth flow, it gets difficult for the director to work with them.
When the director doesn’t find everything is perfect in an actor, they fire them even if he or she is a superstar.
Here is the list of actors who got fired from the movie and you will be shocked to know that some of the big stars were also dismissed during filming.
1. Natalie Portman
Natalie was selected for the role in Romeo + Juliet opposite to Leonardo DiCaprio. But after filming started, filmmakers realized that 14-year-old actress’ miniature complexion made her look like a little girl as Leonardo was 21 and Natalie was looking so much younger next to him.
2. Robert Downey Jr.
Robert was offered one of the roles in the movie ‘Gravity’. But after a few days of filming, filmmakers found that the actor was not suitable to play the role. The film’s director, Alfonso Cuaron said, “Robert is incredibly talented, but the technological aspects of the movie presented a big obstacle to his style of acting.”
3. Megan Fox
During the filming of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Megan Fox and the director, Michael Bay, had some problems. Bay asked Megan to get a suntan and gain 7-9 pounds for the role. Megan called the director ‘’the most horrible person to work with!’’ And. she was promptly fired.
4. Nicole Kidman
Nicole gave her 18 days to the film Panic Room playing the mother, but the actress had to resign from the film due to complications with a knee injury she suffered while starring in Moulin Rouge.
5. Samantha Morton
Samantha was fired from the movie ‘Her’ as the actress was supposed to portray a seductive operating system in the movie. But the director didn’t find her voice attractive. Spike Jonze realized that her voice was not of the type that Joaquin Phoenix’s character could have fallen in love with.
6. Richard Gere
Richard Gere was fired from ‘The Lords of Flatbush (1974)’. After a few days of filming started the actor started to quarrel with half of the crew and get into fights with most of the actors.
7. Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway was offered the lead role in the movie Knocked Up. But, when the filming started, the actress found out that the movie involved a childbirth scene. Anne decided to not to be a part of it and she was fired.
8. Stuart Townsend
After 4 days of filming of The Lord of the Rings, the director Peter Jackson realized that Stuart is too young as Aragorn. So, he dismissed the actor from the movie.
9. James Remar
James was fired from the movie ‘Aliens’ as the reason was ”creative differences”. After many years James himself revealed that back then, he was arrested for drug possession, and this made Cameron look for a replacement.
10. Ryan Gosling
Ryan put on weight in the run-up to the shooting of The Lovely Bones because he had his own idea of what his character should look like. But the director, Peter Jackson, didn’t like Ryan’s approach and replaced the actor and signed Mark Wahlberg for the role.
