An 11-year-old girl has given birth in the United Kingdom, making her the youngest person in the country to become a mother.
While the name and identity of the young mum remain anonymous, local media outlets were quick to point out how the girl fell pregnant when she was just 1o years of age. Moreover, news reports also mentioned how her family had no clue about her pregnancy and were terribly shocked after they heard the news.
The young girl delivered the baby after 30 weeks of pregnancy but sources claim that both the mother as well as the baby are doing well.
“They are both healthy and are being looked after by social services,” confirmed local reports by a media outlet.
The Sun reported how the family did not know anything about the incident. And for that reason, both council chiefs, as well as social services, are carrying out investigations to help take a detailed look into the matter.
One newspaper that is being called as close to the source mentioned how the family termed the situation as one of terrible shock.
“Now, she is being surrounded by various sources of expert help and is doing alright,” they explained. “The main thing at the end of it all is that she and the baby are doing alright,” they went on to add.

Carol Cooper mentioned to The Sun how this was definitely the youngest case of pregnancy that she has ever come across in the United Kingdom. Moreover, she went on to explain how on an average basis, most girls undergo the process of puberty when they reach the age of 11.
However, she did go on to explain how this varies from one individual to another, due to hormones. For this reason, it can occur anytime between the ages of 8 to 14 years.
