Three masked armed men entered a local store in Manzanillo, Colima and shot the 15-year-old store clerk dead on Sunday afternoon.
15-year-old Germán Mauricio Ruiz García was shot dead during a robbery in Colima, Mexico.
The 15-year-old took up the part-time job to help out his mother and buy a new computer. The incident has sparked outrage in Mexico.
CCTV footage shows the three masked armed men opening the cash registers and then ordering the 15-year-old clerk to get on his knees.
One of them then shot the store clerk dead before fleeing the scene.
CCTVAccording to local outlet Contexto Colima, his mother Rosa Elia García said: “My son was a good child, he did not hurt anyone and he was working at Kiosko to fulfill his dream which was to have his computer.”
“Every two weeks he told me he needed less for the computer.”
The incident sparked outrage online and social media users took to Twitter to demand justice for the 15-year-old.
‘You can see that the death penalty already exists in the country, just on the wrong side of the scale,’ one wrote.
Another said: ‘What a disgrace! Where are we going to stop? How long???’
The third one wrote: ‘I’m very sorry here in Mexico the only sin is to be hardworking and honored if you are one of those who prefer to be at home waiting for the scholarship or government payments nothing happens to you’
