A teenager who planned on becoming a human Ken doll has spoken out and revealed what made him change his mind for good.
18-year-old Felipe Dias was just 16 when he started planning 42 plastic surgeries that would completely alter his looks and help him transform into a real-life Ken doll.
After two years of careful planning and consideration, however, the young man learned to accept his looks and realized he was already happy looking the way he does.
“I saw problems in myself that didn’t exist, I don’t see the need for any surgery now. I looked myself in the mirror and managed to see myself,” Dias told G1.
Recalling his dreams to become a human Ken doll, the young man revealed how he previously worked in gardening, street food cooking, and maintenance to save money for surgeries and buy clothes and makeup that helped him change his looks.
The initial transformation sparked quite a debate in his Brazilian hometown where many people mocked and objected to him while others wanted to take pictures with him.
“Some (tried) to destabilize me emotionally. I know what I am and I am not what they say. But a lot of people also want to talk and take a picture. I feel very grateful to receive this affection,” the teen said back in 2020 when he claimed he was sure about his dreams ever since seeing his new style in the mirror.
Two years later, however, Felipe appears to be on a completely different life path, whereas he now makes a living working in construction. He also has no intention of spending his hard-earned money on plastic surgeries after coming to terms with his appearance and feeling content about it.
“With all the difficulty to work and urgently needing a job, I ended up taking advantage of the opportunity they could give me,” the young man added.
“I already had a slight experience (in the role) so it worked out. Not only am I proud of my work, but I also like to be on the job.”
