A 22 stone woman lost 9st 7lbs after she was warned by doctors but has now been left with saggy skin.
Sophie McDonald, from Poole, Dorset, would eat takeaway sausage rolls, chicken tikka masala, pastries and cakes, cinnamon buns, chocolate, and sweets while working at Tesco.
The 27-year-old couldn’t fit into a Rock n’ Roll fairground ride and struggled with her seatbelt on an airplane.
Sophie told FABULOUS: “I was mortified when I realised I was too big for the fairground ride in Christchurch, Dorsetand. I’d already paid to go on and I was pushing down the safety bar across my stomach desperately trying to make it click into place, but it wouldn’t go.”
“I was with a friend and everyone was staring at me as I was holding up the ride.”
She was left embarrassed after the incident.
When she went on a trip to Florida with her boyfriend Tony Parker, she struggled with her seatbelt on the plane.
She couldn’t find a life jacket of her size when the couple went swimming at Discovery Coast in Florida.
She said: “I was so embarrassed as there was a massive line of people behind me waiting to get their life jackets, but they didn’t have one that fit me. In the end, they managed to find a size XXXXL for me. I was mortified.”
After the doctors warned that she would have a heart attack by 30, Sophie started her weight loss journey.
She ditched the unhealthy junk food and started eating healthy meals.
Sophie began making her porridge with banana and berries and homemade soup by herself and within two years, she lost 9st 7lbs.
She went from 22st 9lbs to 13st 12lbs but has now been left with saggy skin.
Sophie said she always felt embarrassed when she was 22 stone and it affected her confidence.
However, after losing weight, she is left with saggy skin and needs a tummy tuck. Because of the saggy skin, she is forced to wear tight clothes and has to tuck everything in.
She said: “Being fat was difficult but having this much excess skin is just as bad – it has a huge mental impact on me.”
“I can’t go running because it starts flapping against my legs and is really painful.”
Sophie needs a £6,888 Fleur-de-lis shaped tummy tuck to remove her saggy skin at the BMI The Harbour Hospital in Poole.
She is now trying to raise money for her £6,888 surgery so she can have her saggy skin removed.
