We all know that stress eating or emotional eating is a form of eating disorder where the affected consumes an increased amount of food to cope with negative feelings.
Most of us go through this phase in life where we are stressed about something, and the only comfort we can find is the food.
But for Ashley, it turned out to be a bane. She is a 600-pound wife and a mother. She just kept growing with age, by the time she passed high school she weighed 400 pounds which is not normal.
She hates being morbidly obese, and she hates the fact that her 5-year-old son, Patrick is taking care of her. And she hates the fact that people see her as an object and not a human being.
She can barely walk, do her chores, and she feels like an anchor who is holding her son’s childhood. Patrick doesn’t mind taking care of his mother. He does the laundry, brings food to his mother, and much other stuff.
She blames her mother for this fate. Her mother was drug abuse and left Ashley and her siblings when Ashley was merely 6. Since then Ashley and her siblings lived with their dad, Tommy.
Her dad provided her the moral support. But she can’t cope with the fact that her mother just left. She found the relief from eating. She can consume 2-3 person meal at one time. She is married to her childhood friend Jake; they met in high school.
Jake is not ashamed of his wife’s personality; he loves her for who she is. But Ashley is getting the feeling that she is ruining her son’s future. In the age of playing with the toys, he is handling the household stuff, and this makes Ashley sad.
But she is grateful for her small family who stood by her in all aspects, and she is considering to put a stop on inconsistent eating as there is a long way to go.
