Clarence H.
Locke Jr. went to a restaurant for lunch with his wife; they were just escorted to their booth when his wife had to use the washroom.
Jayme Adair is a twenty-three-year-old waitress in the same restaurant, and she was supposed to be Locke’s waiter. She had taken the order of the drinks and was returning when Clarence leaped out of his booth and slapped the waiter on her backside.
Jayme had been working in the same restaurant for five years, so when she reported this incident to her manager, he asked the couple to leave.
This entire incident was caught on the CCTV camera on Monday, police then identified and arrested him an hour later.
Ms. Adair who lives in Rome, New York said that this kind of thing has never happened to me in the past and I was shocked. When the couple walked into the restaurant, Locke greeted Jayme by her name, but Jayme said that she had never even met the man, let alone know his name.
Jayme then took the couple to their booth, asked for what drinks they would want, when the woman excused herself to go to the washroom. Then she left to get the drinks for the couple, and when she was leaving the booth after serving the drinks, the man leaped out of his table and smacked her butt very hard.
Jayme said that she was shocked and surprised by such behavior.
Jayme has been dating Joseph Wright, a 25-year-old artist since they were in high school. She was very bothered by Locke’s behavior, especially because she was already dating someone.
She said that she did nothing wrong and such people deserved to be punished. Jayme had endured rude people before, but no one was so vulgar. Her colleague had been through this kind of behavior before, but she never reported any men.
The police said that Locke was a regular at the restaurant, so it was not difficult to identify him.
The district attorney, Scott McNamara said, “People touch women in a bad way and get away with it, if they think they can do this, then they are wrong.” Locke has been sent to jail for a year, the expected punishment for his crime.
