A 31-year-old father has been slammed on social media after he uploaded a video of himself showing him walking his five children.
What sparked a furious debate from viewers was the fact that the father used a leash to make sure that they could not run away.
Writing in his viral clip, he wrote: “When people judge me for using child leashes.”
The song Vegas by Doga Cat can be heard in the background. The lyrics read: “You ain’t nothing’ but a dog, player, ah, get it.”
Jordan Driskell captioned the video: “Come walk a mile in my shoes.”
His video quickly went viral and sparked a lengthy debate, with many slamming the father.
One person commented: “Those kids are way too old to be walked on a leash like a dog.”
Another said: “I wouldn’t use it. They are children. Old enough to be close, not dogs.”
A third added: “Are you gonna train them to pull a sleigh next? Which one has the red nose? Are any of them rescues?”
But others immediately showed their support for the hardworking dad, with one person writing: “Better safe than sorry. If I had that many I would do the same. Rock on!”
Another wrote: “Considering my two-year-old tried to bolt into the street, yeah, we use leashes now too.”
A third said: “Not going to lie, some kids really need leashes, nothing wrong with not wanting to lose your child every time you look away.”
Someone else said: “With five kids you need that. Responsible parenting right here.”
Speaking with Today, Jordan explained that his children love to ‘run off and explore’ because of their ‘curiosity’ so he and his wife decided to use leashes to keep their sanity.
