Singer Tina Turner’s fans were not happy with the tribute put forward in her honor by Patti LaBelle.

Many were quick to call that incident out as the most disrespectful one of them all while others stood in silence and watched the singer forget the lyrics of the monumental song.

The incident arose at the 2023 BET Awards and that’s where the 79-year-old star was supposed to pay tribute to Turner with the most heartwarming rendition of her iconic music.

But things clearly did not go as planned and the star ended up forgetting some of the main lyrics of the tune. As expected, the news spread like wildfire on social media, and fans and trolls were not as forgiving as one would assume.

The song was titled, ‘The Best’ and it was clear that she struggled on several occasions. This left the audience as well as online viewers watching back home confused while others were just upset at this behavior.

They felt the star should be slammed for the ordeal and that this type of mistake cannot happen at such grand events. “She should be so ashamed”- another fan commented.

When the singer was met with some awkward silence and stares, she tried to tell those watching that she was trying. And it was clear that this was a massive struggle.

Tina Turner passed away this year in May from a prolonged illness. She happened to be at her residence in Switzerland at that time.

‘I’m trying y’all!’- the celeb mentioned in a bold tone. Then on a separate occasion, she claims to be looking worried but obviously, such moments can never be hidden when you’ve got such a high-profile event taking place center stage.

The fact that it was one of Turner’s most iconic tunes meant that people could clearly spot the mistake with ease and that was not something positive for Patti LaBelle at all.
