The host of Let’s Make A Deal, Wayne Brady, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at his Malibu home with his ex-wife Mandie Taketa and daughter Maile.

The family is shooting a reality TV series which is scheduled to air on Hulu next year.

In the interview, the 51-year-old opened up about his s*xualy and revealed: “I am pans*xual.”

This means Brady is attracted to a person regardless of their gender. “Bis*xual – with an open mind!” as Brady put it.

His ex-wife, Taketa, was the first person he came out to.

“I just said, ‘Great.’ As I new coming out would help him be happier,” she expressed.

Maile also made a similar response, saying: “I just said, ‘Okay.’”

Brady also explained: “In doing my research, both with myself and just with the world, I couldn’t say if I was bis*xual, because I had to really see what that was, especially because I really have not gotten a chance to act on anything.

“So, I came to pans*xual because – and I know that I’m completely messing up the dictionary meaning – but to me, pan means being able to be attracted to anyone who identifies as gay, straight, bi, trans*xual or non-binary.”

The host also said that it is a ‘blessing’ to be able to ‘connect’ with people in their own homes, adding that he is an ‘introvert’ that is an ‘actor.’

Brady explained that Robin Williams’ death pushed him to be more open about his mental health.

“I had to start learning about myself, and I had to start owning up to things that maybe I’d either repressed, suppressed, or just didn’t wanna deal with,” he expressed.

The 51-year-old revealed that he did all possible therapies. “I had to start examining why I was looking for myself and happiness in a slew of people,” he said.

He concluded by saying he is ‘still putting himself together’ but he is starting to become the ‘Wayne Brady that everyone wants and expects.’
