Taylor Swift has reportedly turned down the offer to perform at the next Super Bowl’s Halftime Show.
The 33-year-old superstar, who has been touring around the States for several months, is reportedly in “no rush” to perform at the Super Bowl despite the fact that performing at the event’s Halftime Show is considered one of the greatest honors in the music industry.
According to the insiders, Taylor doesn’t believe that performing at the Super Bowl would be a career-defining moment, whereas she is currently already too busy with her other projects to focus on the LVII halftime show which will take place in Las Vegas.
“Taylor is busy with her current tour, she has zero time to prepare a Super Bowl show, she will do it eventually, but she is in no rush at all to do it in Vegas or do it in the next couple of years,” a source told DailyMail.com.
“She knows she is at her peak in her career and each move from this point on is as important as the next. Working on her current tour and recording her old music and working on new music and living life are taking up the majority of her time.”
The insider went on to say that Super Bowl might be something the Shake It Off hitmaker would focus on in the future but not right now because “she knows she had all the time in the world.”
“She always reminds her team that Madonna was 53 when she finally did the show herself, so timing is everything,” the source added.
“Taylor is well aware of how she wants her career to develop and will do things her way and her way only and will not rush into something she doesn’t want to do just to do it and that includes the Super Bowl.”
Another source with ties to the NFL told the publication that there will always be a place for Taylor in the Halftime Show while confirming that the singer doesn’t see herself performing at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this early on in her career.
“Taylor will have her opportunity to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show and has been asked a handful of times but when it comes to next year and the show in Vegas, it will not be her,” the insider explained.
“She wants to be a part of the show at some point and is leaning towards doing it in a few years, especially if the Super Bowl is in Nashville.
“But when it comes to Vegas, any Taylor fans shouldn’t be excited that she is going to do it, because it isn’t happening.”
