A stalker was arrested after appearing at Drew Barrymore’s home just days after crashing her speech.
The police rushed to Drew Barrymore’s $6 million home in Long Island, New York, on Thursday after an alleged stalker walked from “door-to-door” in the Southampton neighborhood in an attempt to track down the actress.
The suspect has since been arrested and identified as Chad Michael Busto, the same man who crashed Drew’s speaking event on Monday.
Fortunately, Barrymore was not at her home at the time of the incident.
Santa Monica Daily Press has since revealed that Busto has a lengthy rap sheet and that he was previously arrested in Santa Monica.
Days before tracking the actress down and appearing outside her house, Busto tried to force his way to the stage where Barrymore held a panel discussion with singer Renee Rapp.
“Drew Barrymore!” Busto yelled as he was approaching the stage.
Shocked by the confrontation, Barrymore responded: “Oh my god, yes? Hi!”
Busto then went on to introduce himself before saying he needed to see the actress at some point while she’s in New York.
“You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York,” he said before he was escorted out by the security.
Meanwhile, Rapp held Barrymore and helped her to the backstage. The pair later returned and spoke out about the scary encounter.
“By the way, just to be clear, the second they were like, ‘Ok, we’re good.’ They’re like, ‘do you need anything, do you need us to stay?’ [Barrymore] was like ‘oh no, I got it, I’m good!’” Rapp said.
Barrymore jokingly added: “Well, I got a new definition of your sexiness, it’s that level of protectiveness. That went full bodyguard! You are my Kevin Costner!”
