While most schools have dress codes that students must abide by, one particular educational institution has people raising eyebrows for obvious reasons.
Think along the lines of being sent home from school for not having the right footwear. Yes, it’s as shocking as it sounds and now, parents are having their say on how they feel about the matter.
The upset parents felt their children’s education was being compromised over ridiculous matters like these and they just were in no mood to deal with the act.
Moreover, other reports had to do with how the criteria for judging were beyond absurd. Just because some students could afford the latest designer shoes, thanks to their well-off parents, certainly did not mean they could be punished. And that is what the basis of the argument was.
The incident arose at the Grace College in Gateshead. This is where a child who was as young as 10 went home in tears because the school said they were not keen on promoting the spoiled or rich culture.
For them, it was all about making sure none of the kids felt isolated or left out and that all valuables and riches should be flaunted at home and not at school.
Most of the students sent home were attending their first day of school. And the last thing any parent would ever wish to see is their child come back in tears.
“It’s outrageous that the policy has become like this. Why would anyone find this behavior to be alright?”- asked one person. And just like that, the questions kept on coming.
Some parents are now demanding that the school look into the matter which they feel is very serious. They’re not keen on sending their children home anytime soon after this behavior.
