A man has come under fire when his wife called him out after coming across his “inappropriate” text message to his brother.

According to a 29-year-old woman who is a mother to six children – all boys – she was left stunned when she came across her husband’s text message exchange in which he complained to his brother about his wife not being able to give him a daughter despite males, who carry XY chromosomes, being the ones who determine the baby’s gender.

The woman also explained that her husband pondered what his life would look like if he stayed with his ex who now has three girls.

“We always talked about children and we both always said that we wanted to have all girls, but we ended up having six boys aged eight, seven, five, three, two and a one-month-old. I don’t care because the only thing that matters to me is that they are all healthy, but apparently, my husband doesn’t think that way,” she wrote.

“Exactly a month ago we had another boy and he felt disappointed. We decided to wait until he was born to find out his gender and when he was born my husband just laughed and that was it, it is obvious that he loves him and is happy with him, and he’s an amazing dad, to be honest, but he still feels disappointed.”

The shocked mom went on to recall the time she accidentally came across her husband’s WhatsApp message to his brother saying:

“He told him that he was disappointed that I couldn’t give him a daughter, he said that he loves our children and doesn’t regret having them but that he still dreams of having a daughter and that it saddens him to know that we will probably never have one.

“He also sometimes thinks about what would have happened if he stayed with his ex-girlfriend – she currently has three girls – and honestly reading that made me feel really bad. There is nothing I can do to determine the gender of our children. It is horrible to know that he is still thinking about someone with whom he has not had a relationship for more than a decade.”

Concluding her viral post, the mother asked for advice on how to move on while asking the readers if her husband was in the wrong for feeling the way he does.

Soon enough, the mother received heaps of support from viewers baffled by the man’s foolishness and his response to being a father to six boys.

“As soon as I read the title I laughed. Everyone knows the baby’s sex is determined by the father’s sperm. We all get an X chromosome from mom. The one that’s still up in the air is from Dad. So, I’d say it’s no one’s fault but if he insists on pointing fingers, he’d have to point inward,” someone wrote.

Another explained: “Your husband needs to pick up an eighth-grade biology textbook. Let me spell it out for him. Human eggs have an X chromosome (contributed by the mother whose chromosomes are XX), and human sperm can have either an X chromosome or a Y chromosome (contributed by the father whose chromosomes are XY).”
