A mother was left furious after her partner bought five pairs of shoes for his daughter but did not get anything for his stepchildren.

The dad explained that his 14-year-old daughter is a track runner and he purchased five pairs of trainers to support her hobby. But when his fiancée found out, she was left fuming and said he should have also purchased shoes for her three children.

Posting on Reddit, the father explained that his daughter’s doctor told her to replace her sports shoes regularly.

“At her most recent sports physical, I asked her doctor how often I should replace her shoes because I’m sure they get worn out pretty quickly with the number of miles she’s running each week,” he wrote.

“Her doctor recommended switching the shoes out every six months, as well as getting two pairs of shoes so she can switch out the pair she’s wearing every other day or so.”

After talking with the doctor, he bought four pairs of running shoes and another pair for races, saying he spent more than $300 on her shoes.

“My fiancée stayed quiet until later that night while we were getting ready for bed when she started yelling at me for being irresponsible and a horrible person to her own kids,” he continued.

The dad explained that he and his fiancée agreed to provide for their own children and that her kids do not play any sports.

“Even when I do buy them something they never say thank you or appreciate what I get them,” he added.

In an update, the man claimed that his fiancée didn’t help with the bills and wanted him to pay for everything. He ended up breaking off their engagement as he was finally “done being her ATM.”

Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts, with one person commenting: “I’m so glad he got out. That was a whole s**t show he almost got trapped into.”

Another said: “All the fiancée had to do was not complain about him being nice to his own daughter and her plan would have worked, but she couldn’t even do that.”
