Kat Von D has broken her silence and revealed why she chose to denounce witchcraft and the occult and convert to Christianity.
The 41-year-old TV personality and tattoo artist made headlines earlier this year after revealing she dropped her signature gothic outfit in favor of a white robe as she renounced the occult and got baptized.
More recently, Katherine opened up about her decision to turn her life around in an episode for the Relatable podcast.
Speaking to Allie Beth Stuckey, the tattoo icon said she “re-evaluated” her perspectives after being left “miserable” as a result of turning her back on the church.
“I’m on fire for Jesus, I don’t plan on this dimming out,” she said.
Kat also explained that her transition began just around the pandemic in 2020 after she started watching sermons and craved “more and more.”
“I started just kind of re-evaluating. Going down the list of what I’m doing with my life and what my perspectives are and then it got to the part of my spirituality and that’s where I started really rethinking a lot of things,” she added.
“I just desired more and more and more and so I just started studying the Bible.”
After ditching a number of books on witchcraft and the occult, Kat realized that she didn’t need these “crutches” in her life any longer and that she was ready to pursue Jesus.
“I just want Jesus. I feel like it’s a very narrow road. I feel like these breathing techniques or spell work or nature worship – all of these things are just crutches. They’re not really my answer,” she explains.
“I would rather eliminate any distractions and this is just what works for me.”
