Zac Efron’s fans were left speechless after the actor showed off an entirely new look in his latest interview.

The 36-year-old former teen heartthrob recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly to talk to the magazine about his upcoming movie The Iron Claw in which he plays the iconic wrestler Kevin Von Erich.

In his rare appearance, Zac appeared to have a fuller face and jawline sparking rumors about plastic procedures.

“His face is so much bigger now, what happened? Did he get plastic surgery?” one baffled viewer pondered.

“What happened to his face? He doesn’t look like Zac Efron anymore!” another said.

A third wrote: “Growth hormone must have wrecked his jaw/lips.”

The truth, however, likely stems from the fact that the actor previously shattered his jaw in a shocking accident. As Efron admitted in 2022, his changing look was the result of an incident in which he smashed his jaw on a granite fountain.

He also said he didn’t realize he was a hot topic on social media until his own mom called him to ask if the rumors about plastic surgery were true.

“If I valued what other people thought of me to the extent that they may think I do, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this work,” he said at the time.

While many went on to compare the 36-year-old to characters like Avengers’ Thanos and Shrek’s Lord Farquaad after his most recent interview, Zac’s most loyal fans quickly rushed to his aid to remind everyone what he had been through.

“Before everyone comments about it, Zac said that his jaw shattered in an accident and he had to get it reconstructed which is supposedly why it looks different now,” someone explained.
