A father has been facing the heat after revealing he took his young son to Hooters as a reward for his good behavior.
36-year-old Paul Edwards sparked fury from fellow parents after announcing he took his son Buddy, 9, to the American restaurant chain featuring scantily clad servers.
As Edwards revealed in his viral post, he decided to reward his son after he performed well at school. And now, the boy wants to go back to the restaurant on a weekly basis.
“He was a bit shy at first but then he loved it. The staff were great and so helpful, and the food was beautiful,” the father explained.
While the man’s unconventional reward system was applauded by many, some people lashed out at the dad and accused him of ‘creepy’ behavior.
“That’s just a big no, he’s just nine years old,” someone wrote.
“This is creepy,” another said.
“I find this a little depressing to be honest,” a third argued.
One viewer fumed: “Why would you take your child there? What’s wrong with you?”
Amid the backlash, however, plenty of people ran to the dad’s aid saying he did nothing wrong.
“Best dad ever!” someone gushed.
“Looks like they had fun and the boy’s mother agreed to it in the first place. Nothing wrong with that,” another said.
A third joked: “Great idea, now I have an excuse to go to Hooters as well. My wife will be thrilled when I tell her about it.”
