Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her sister, Anna, after she passed away at the age of 29 following battle against cancer.
Her mother, reality star Mama June Shannon, shared the news on Instagram, saying that her oldest daughter had passed away after being diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January.
Thompson, 18, also took to Instagram and paid tribute to her sister as she shared her last moments with her.
Her heartbreaking post read: “This is one post I wish I didn’t have to make.
“Last night we all surrounded Anna with love & let her know it was okay to go. Unfortunately around 11 pm Anna took her last breath.
“Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family we all know she is at peace now. I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken.”
She also shared how hard it was for her to watch her sister battle the disease.
Thompson continued: “Watching my 29 year old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy. Anna was a fighter & still is. Lord please wrap your arms around her 2 babies & our family as the next couple of days will make this all a reality.”
She also promised to celebrate Anna’s birthday like she never left.
“The sky looks a little bit different today,” she continued. “We will always love you Anna. You hit me hard with this one Anna but I know your in a better place now and pain free forever!”
Cardwell’s passing comes after Shannon took to Instagram to ask followers to keep her family in her thoughts.
Shannon’s 23-year-old daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird, also wrote on her Instagram Story: “Say a prayer for our family.”
