Cardi B has confirmed her split from rapper Offset one week after she unfollowed him on Instagram.
In a Sunday night Instagram Live session, the 31-year-old singer took her fans by surprise as she admitted she has “been single for a minute now” and that she initially didn’t know how to break the news and “tell the world” about their split.
While she didn’t share many details about the breakup, it is believed that the split could be connected to the allegations that Cardi’s estranged husband cheated on her with rapper Chrisean Rock.
And though the split clearly had its effects on her mood, Cardi B insisted she was optimistic about her future and “curious for a new life, for a new beginning.”
The brave admission comes a week after split rumors began spreading like wildfire when the two celebs unfollowed each other on social media.
They then also shared a series of cryptic messages and posts implying that their relationship had come to an end.
“You know sometimes you just outgrow relationships,” Cardi wrote in one post.
In another, she said: “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings… I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST.”
Meanwhile, Offset shared a clip of Al Pacino’s 1983 classic Scarface in which the actor says: “Hey, f**k you, man! Who put this thing together? Me. That’s who. Who do I trust? Me.”
Cardi B and Offset have had a tremorous relationship after first meeting in 2016 at an entertainment event. By January 2017, the couple officially began dating and they tied the knot in secret later that year.
