Dolly Parton has finally responded to ‘wild rumors’ that she was left crippled because of her heavy breasts.
The Jolene hitmaker spoke to Saga Magazine and addressed the rumors about herself and her marriage.
“I’ve heard so many crazy rumors about me through the years,” the 77-year-old said. “The worst stories were ones saying that my back was broke because my bo*bs were so heavy!”
This is not the first time the singer has addressed the rumors.
In a previous interview with ET Canada, she said of the ‘fabricated tales’: “Oh, heavens, I’ve heard everything. There was one time Enquirer magazine (said) that my bo*bs were so heavy that they had broken my back down and that I couldn’t get up, that I was going to be crippled for the rest of my life.
“And I thought, well, they are big and they are heavy, but I can still get around… I’m doing all right.”
The singer was talking about an article published by the National Enquirer in 1990s.
During the interview with Saga, Parton also addressed the speculations that she had an affair ‘with everybody I’ve ever worked with.’
She also opened up about her marriage with Carl Dean and even joked that her husband ‘just about fell out of his chair’ when she wore a Playboy outfit to celebrate his 79th birthday.
Parton recently made headlines over her Thanksgiving performance at the halftime show for the Commanders-Cowboys game in Dallas where she sported a cheerleader outfit to sing some of her hits.
While many critics said the singer was ‘too old’ to be dressed that way, her fans were quick to defend and praise her.
Parton’s sister, Stella, also took to social media to share her thoughts about Dolly’s Thanksgiving attire.
“I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving,” Stella wrote.
“To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say f**k yourself. Shame on you not her.”
