Ariana Grande has announced her first new single in three years as she revealed the song’s title on Sunday morning.
“‘Yes, and?’ 1.12 ♡ pre-save and CD single available at arianagrande.com,” the pop star shared on Instagram days after she was spotted wearing a sweatshirt with the text ‘Yes, and?’ on the front.
The new single will be made available to Ariana’s fans as early as January 12, whereas the song can be pre-saved on Apple Music and Spotify.
The news comes shortly after the singer announced her new album which is also set to be released this year.
“The two moods of the album,” she wrote as she shared a photo of her crying. In a video clip, she added: “I’m so tired. But so happy and grateful. I also feel like I weigh 3,000 tons.”
The single comes months after insiders claimed Ariana fired her longtime manager Scooter Braun and less than half a year after she filed for divorce from Dalton Gomez. Around the same time, Ariana’s new boyfriend Ethan Slater filed for divorce from Lilly Jay whom he welcomed a child with just over a year ago.
One insider at the time told TMZ that Jay felt “devastated” and “blindsided” by her husband’s actions. She also said she believed Slater abandoned his family to be with Ariana.
“Ethan sat Lilly down a few days before the news broke about him and Ariana and said that he wanted a divorce. Lilly never saw it coming!” a source told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, another insider confirmed that Gomez was also taken aback by the news of a divorce.
“Dalton has been devastated by it. A separation is not what he wanted. He wanted the fairy tale, happy ending, and it’s not looking that way,” they claimed.
“Dalton is really hoping to make things work with Ariana. Despite the rocky patches they’ve been through, he isn’t ready to give up on their marriage. He saw himself spending the rest of his life with Ariana and will do anything to get past this.”
