The statement was said to be one of the most powerful ones ever made by a royal who chose someone who was not only British but American and from the entertainment industry.

The news was first confirmed by media outlet E! News which mentioned that they were trying to reach out to the Palace’s reps for more details on the matter but are yet to get it.

The incident led to a wave of negative press in 2016 with many who felt that Harry might not be making the right decision by breaking norms and years of tradition.
