Boeing 737 Max 8 just narrowly avoided a serious disaster off Kauai in Hawaii recently.
Due to poor weather conditions, the plane changed its drastic course, making it plunge to nearly 400 feet off of the Pacific Ocean.
A flight memo that arose through Bloomberg News mentioned how this particular airline ended up departing on April 11.
This was from Hawaii’s Honolulu International Airport to Lihue Airport located in Kauai.
After the aborted landing attempt, The jet plummeted to about 16,000 feet to a serious altitude of 409 feet as it faced mega stormy weather.
As revealed by a memo from Southwest, it was a very close call for the plane as it tried to recover from an aborted landing attempt as bad weather made it horrible.
The memo from Southwest also shed light on how poor vision led to the pilots having serious difficulty spotting the runway at that specific descent altitude.
The memo also went on to reveal how the captain kept on insisting that the first officer needed to take control or command of the jet in that specific 100-mile interisland flight. This has led to fury from passengers who feel an immediate investigation needs to be rolled out.
