Gender row boxer Lin Yu-Ting stayed true to her strong reputation of being one of the strongest competitors at the Olympics this year for boxing.
She marched her way toward getting the gold medal and becoming the second woman to slam her critics where it hurts.
The 28-year-old marched through three tough rounds to win through a unanimous decision and join Imane Khelif of Algeria in another success of bidding her opponents farewell from outside the ring who made false claims that she was a male and therefore should be barred from the tournament.
Yu-Ting wiped off her smile from her opponent’s face with a blistering array of punches from the bell. While her opponent did try to derail her from getting the championship, she was just too good for her in the end.
She won in all three rounds and fell to her knees as her opponent showed great grace and congratulated her for reaching the end as the champion.
While Yu-Ting’s previous challengers made the X sign with their signals, her last opponent showed nothing but love by displaying the heart shape to the crowd from the ring. And that’s when Yu-Ting kept bowing to her and the spectators for showing her love this time around.
