Tragic details are emerging from Australia where a young pilot reportedly crashed his stolen helicopter into the rooftop of a luxury hotel.
The incident arose at the Cairns hotel where the pilot was identified as 23-year-old Blake Wilson who hailed from New Zealand.
He was in charge of the R44 Robinson Helicopter when it slammed into the rooftop of the DoubleTree by Hilton at nearly 1:50 am on Monday.
He could not make it out alive, despite a massive evacuation attempt being planned to get all those affected in the area to safety.
The tragedy struck a few months after the young individual moved to Cairns to live out his best life after completing training to become a pilot.
The young and talented pilot had a license in New Zealand and never flew in Australia, which was a striking finding in the investigation.
His last post shared had him in the driving seat where he captioned the post with, ‘I am so very proud to announce that I am officially a commercial helicopter pilot right now’- leaving many dumbfounded about how and why this incident arose in the first place.
