The bodies of the mother and her two kids who jumped from Niagara Falls are yet to be recovered.
Now, experts are speaking more about the tragedy and how the remains might never be retrieved as they could have drifted 150 miles due to strong currents.
The news comes after days of intense search and rescue yielded little to no results and the family is now reeling from the shock that they won’t get reunited with their loved ones’ remains.
The incident arose when the mother Chianti Means stepped across the guardrail on Luna Island on Monday night.
She also forced her two young kids to jump in as a powerful current could carry them hundreds of miles away from that designated location.
Despite days of intense rescue efforts, the operations were deemed unsuccessful and experts are giving their opinions on the matter.
“It’s not uncommon for those who die at Niagara Falls to remain lost. They get swept away by the massive force of 3610 tons of water that keeps cascading in each second.
Previous cases showed how the currents for these falls can carry remains far downstream. In one situation, one man was found more than 140 miles away from Lake Ontario, years later.
