Tomorrow the controversial Western film Rust is all set to debut.
The news comes amid a lot of speculations and controversies after it was hit by years of drama due to the accidental shooting of the film’s cinematographer by actor Alec Baldwin.
Halyna Hutchins died after being struck by a bullet. Another member of the crew was also injured but thankfully they survived.
Actor Baldwin had no idea that the gun was loaded with bullets as it was the on-set armorer’s job to ensure it was safe to use.
The prop gun ended up being a deadly weapon as the sounds of live rounds of ammunition left everyone stunned including the shooter himself.
This led to a massive delay in the production but nearly three years later, the movie is all set to hit the big screens.
After the incident, the armorer from the set was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and received the greatest possible sentence which in this situation was 18 months.
The website selling tickets for the film ended up crashing due to high demand. All charges against the actor of the film, Alec Baldwin were dismissed in January by the court. While some agree that he had nothing to do with it, others hold a school of thought that since he was the one who fired the deadly weapon, he should be held accountable.
