Seventeen people including a two-year-old baby and five teenagers were pronounced dead after a horror bus crash incident.
According to reports from local media outlets, the bus was full of students, parents, and teachers and was on its way for a field trip.
But all of a sudden, the bus ended up plunging more than 20 meters off the cliffside of a road.
The students were present on the school trip before the vehicle carrying 57 people collided head-on with a van and then veered off the road and into a giant ravine in Peru. This was as per statements released from the state government on the matter.
Authorities have raised the death toll to 17 as many continue to fight for their lives at the hospital, a new report confirmed.
The bus suddenly fell into a giant ravine that was more than 20 meters deep. The incident reportedly arose when the bus was traveling along the road into the Moyobamba province which is located in the San Marin region.
As per reports from local media outlets, the crash took place while the bus filled with high school students was on its way to a class trip. Most of the students were from high school but there were also toddlers and teens accompanying them.
