California was hit by an earthquake on Friday as the state battled the most deadly wildfires that have been wreaking havoc since the week’s start.
The massive 3.7 magnitude was detected near the San Francisco Bay area at about 7:02 am PT.
The tremor’s epicenter was said to be about five miles southwest of the Golden Gate Bridge and two miles west of the Great Highway.
As per reports from the US Geological Survey, it showed how more than 5000 people reported feeling the shake in that area and the figures began to grow.
The area currently sits on the San Andreas Fault line that runs from the Cape Mendocino in the north to the Salton Sea present towards the south.
The quake was soon followed by a massive 2.2 magnitude aftershock that was centered in the same region at about four minutes after that.
Soon after that, another 2.5 magnitude earthquake arose six minutes later after the initial one struck.
This seismic activity took place about 350 miles away from the LA area where horrifying wildfires killed nearly 10 people and forced up to 180k from their residences.
During the morning hours of Friday, more than 10k structures were burned down. And then a total of 29,053 acres of land was scorched in one of the topmost horrific disasters to date in LA
