President Donald Trump was seen breaking his silence about Greenland and how strongly he feels it will be a part of the USA soon.
America’s head of state spoke about how Greenland should be under US control as it poses a serious national security threat and therefore he’s willing to do anything to take it over.
The President was asked during his recent press conference if he was willing to send troops from the US to seize control of the island and his answer was yes.
‘I think that it will happen’- the president continued in regards to annexing the island during his Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Trump says that the matter has to do with the country’s best interest and national security. This is why NATO needs to get involved anyway.
Trump shared how America already has a military base inside Greenland so that would make the whole process of seizing control so much simpler.
“We have several bases on Greenland and we’ve got several soldiers. Maybe you’ll see more and more people go there!’- he continued.
The matter seems more like a threat than anything else, insiders claimed after weighing in on the whole situation. They feel that hijacking a country against its people’s wishes is a clear violation of the UN’s humanitarian laws.
