How many of you like to have a little puff of cigarette while you are in a theme park or in front of the hotel? And how many of you love to go to Disney related parks and resorts?
Well, there is some bad news for smokers as Disney said they will ban smoking at all of its theme parks.
The company has announced that this new smoking policy will set to take effect.
The company’s blog post read, “There will no longer be smoking areas inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or California’s Downtown Disney.”
“Smoking areas will exist outside the entrances of those parks and at Florida’s Disney Springs, an outdoor shopping area.”
“There will also be smoking areas at Disney Resort hotels.”
Disney spokeswoman Erica Ettori told Orlando Sentinel that enforcing the smoking policy will be left to the Disney employees within each area and added that Disney isn’t planning to punish people who are caught smoking.
Ettori also said that visitors who were asked to leave for smoking will be permitted to return to the inside of the park after they finish smoking.
President of Ohio-based International Theme Park Service, Dennis Speigel, said, “It’s about time. It’s the happiest place on Earth. Why should people be subjected to smoke at Disney?”
In addition to the smoking policy, Disney is enforcing changes to buggy sizes that are allowed into their parks.
After the new changes, buggies can be no larger than 78cm wide and 1.2m long, reported Miami Herald.
