Six children were taken to hospital after eating cupcakes brought in by a 16-year-old student.
The students at Shirley High School in Croydon, South London hallucinated after wolfing down the treats. Teachers immediately called police and emergency services after being informed the teens had consumed high strength skunk brownies.
The 16-year-old is reported to have baked the pot-based cakes at home with ‘skunk weed’ and brought them to school to share them with her friends.
The teen is thought to have been one of the 6 children brought to a hospital. Officers are now investigating her.
A source told news website the Sun that the girl hid the cupcakes in her locker before sharing them out during lunchtime.
“The brownies were full of skunk grass and would have been the equivalent of smoking several really strong joints.
“The kids were hallucinating and in a state of delirium. Teachers realized something was wrong and were told they had all eaten cannabis cakes.
“A teacher called 999 and a load of ambulances and police turned up. It was quite a drama but luckily none of the kids suffered any permanent damage.
“The girl admitted baking the cakes and says it was only meant to be a bit of fun and she didn’t intend to harm anyone.”
6 students were brought to a hospital but none were in a life-threatening condition.
“A teenager was spoken to in relation to the incident. No arrests have been made. Police are working to establish the circumstances,” the Met Police said.
