A cop, who saved a baby who got choked one year ago, has developed a special bond with the baby and the mother.
In 2018, Nechole Crowell, from Florida, asked Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremie Nix to help her as her newborn son, Kingston Crowell, was not breathing.
Nix saved the choking baby and now, they have developed a special bond.
Crowell and her son met Nix’s wife, Nikki Nix, and they celebrated Christmas last year.
The families also celebrated Kingston’s first birthday in January. Crowell even asked Jeremie and Nikki to be Kingston’s godparents.
“I think it was a God thing. I think it was the right place, right time and being put in that position for the right reason” Nix told WESH-TV about their relationship.
Crowell said: “I remember dropping to my knees and just screaming, ‘Thank God!’ I could breathe!” Crowell said of the day when Nix saved her son’s life.
“Like we were kind of attached from the moment it happened. He just said, ‘I’m not leaving your son, until I know he’s OK’ and it’s just been him and Nikki since,” Crowell added.
Nix said: “So, it’s opened a door to have conversations and create new relationships and friends that we would have never had before.”
“It doesn’t have to be blood-related to be family and it doesn’t have to be just your family to teach life lessons.”
“And so he has another family that can teach him a lot more and we can all work together. You know, no matter color, race, whatever, it’s just, you see genuine love.”
“God’s got a great plan for Kingston and he’s got great things in store for that little guy that we were able to set on the right path that day,” Nix added.
What an amazing man he is! God bless both the families.
