A parent’s biggest nightmare is to lose their child when the child is not capable enough of making their way back home.
This is what happened to a tiny little toddler who lives in eastern Kentucky’s rural area. The baby is just 22 months old but he was found alive 3 days later when the police had lost hope of the same.
The police twitted that Kenneth Howard, the 22 months old toddler has been found alive. He was near an old strip mine and was taken directly to a pediatrician through helicopter when he was found in Floyd County.
The rescue operation that continued for 3 days finally gave success and the pictures from the same were shared by the police. The young baby was sitting in the middle surrounded by the volunteers just wearing a diaper.
Captain Carter Conley, from the rescue squad, said that the baby was taken out safely and right now is being treated for dehydration as he had been in the wild for three straight days. His parents have also been informed.
According to the rescue team, Kenneth was found 1755 feet away from his home, the place he went missing from. He was at the bottom of a 50 feet high steep when a tracking team heard his cry. The tracker used a basket to take the baby out of the trap.
One officer said that he was a true mountain boy because he made to the place he was discovered from all on his own and he was not hurt. If there was any other baby in his place, it would probably not have survived.
The search crew was only supposed to look for the ½ mile at first but they extended it because they could not find the baby.
