5-year-old Slater has diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma when he was just 4 years old.
For his treatment, his family left their home in Florida and moved to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis in 2018.
Slater underwent surgery and chemotherapy. He also underwent bone marrow and stem cell transplants and was treated with radiation and immunotherapy.
Those were the worst days for both Slater and his family. But, his family didn’t give and prayed for a miracle.
Finally, Slater was allowed to go home after 406 days of treatment.
His family shared a heartwarming video of Slater going home after 406 days to their Facebook page named Our Boys Life (@ourboyslife).
The doctor and hospital staff can be seen bidding adieu to Slater with a song and confetti.
The caption of the video says: ‘I am still crying, we all are.
After 406 days here at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 425 days of hospital in total..
our prayers have been answered!!!’‘It’s a miracle, a gift from God and our guardian angels up above (my mommy foremost!!) and all of YOUR prayers and support’
‘Yes he is going home with some complications that will take time to heal, some permanent, but OUR BABY IS COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today is the single most important day of our lives. Our baby is cancer-free!!! Hallelujah, he is healed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU ST JUDE AND THANK YOU DR SARA’ (Credit: @ourboyslife)
We are glad Slater is now back home. We wish him all the best for his future.
