Frank Baez, who is 29 years old, used to work as a janitor in New York University and now he is graduating from the same college.
He recently got his degree from the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing after completing his program just in 15 months.
Back in the year 2009, Frank used to clean bathrooms and hallways at the NYU Lagone Tisch Hospital. Frank came to the United States when he was just 15 years old, and he started working as a janitor so that he can support his family.
While working as a janitor, he wasn’t able to speak fluent English, and that’s when he got interested in the nursing profession.
Frank claims that when he was working with the nurses, he got inspired to become one of them. While working, he learned how passionate and dedicated they are towards their patients.
After studying at Hunter College, he came to NYU to complete his nursing degree further.
Frank said that he understood that he wanted to do something more, and he also deserved something more that’s why he studied really hard to become a nurse.
Throughout his journey, Frank never gave up on his dreams and kept working hard towards his goals.
The college director also said that she was just surprised by Frank’s nursing talent as the course is really tiring, but he got through it with flying colors.
The director said that Frank interacted with the patients so patiently with a lot of compassion. Frank is the first person to graduate from college in his family, and he now further plans to become an Intensive Care Unit nurse.
Frank is delighted with his progress in life, and he is determined to reach his goals without giving up. His story gives us the inspiration of never giving up, no matter whatever situation life throws at you.
