All women want to end their periods as soon as possible – but some ladies are trying dangerous techniques to do so.

A nurse has recently taken to Twitter to warn women against vacuuming their vaginas in hopes of speeding up what’s a natural process.

This bizarre practice is causing several women to suffer serious injuries.

Taking to her Twitter, the nurse from the US wrote: “Ladies… Please stop using your vacuum hose to end your period early. You’re gonna wind up sucking out a lot more than blood!

“There were two cases of this so far this week and both women had to be admitted. Just…STOP!”

The practice has its roots in menstrual extraction – a decades-old procedure which was used to provide an alternative for abortion in places where it was banned.

Some people also used the abortion method to get rid of menstrual blood – but the procedure didn’t employ a vacuum cleaner.

It was performed by Del-Em – a device designed to create a vacuum by using a bottle, a thin tube, and a pump.

The women who are getting injured for vacuuming their vaginas have likely mistaken Del-Em for the normal vacuum cleaner used in homes.

And just like a home abortion, this practice is also gravely dangerous.

Besides creating shock and trauma, it can lead to infection, punctures to the uterus, and other serious injuries, an expert told The Sun.

“It’s dangerous in so many ways and an utterly bizarre concept that won’t work but might do serious harm,” said Dr. Shazia Malik, an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

“Vaginal laceration, damage to the cervix and life-threatening infection from the germs on the hose,” she said.

I know we all hate having periods cos they can be a bother but using a vacuum in your vagina to end your period isn’t how to go about it??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️….it’s usually 3-7days(if it’s more, then , that’s usually abnormal so get it checked out)!!

If the risk of catching an infection doesn’t seem problematic to you, just know that a Dyson cleaner can even rip out parts of your vagina.

Twitter user @OdesseyT99 who warned against the practice said two women “used the suction hose to suck out their periods hoping to end them early.”

“They both sent themselves into shock instead,” she added.

In my 32 years in this life, i only just heard that some women use "vacuum hose" to "suck out their periods" so as to shorten the length of their menstrual flow ??

So i looked it up. Alas, it has been a thing. Since 1971 ?

Periods happen at a certain flow rate which can easily be tolerated by the body.

“A vacuum increases that flow over a 1000 times which your body can’t tolerate, therefore sending you into shock,” the nurse said.
