51-year-old Michael Webb has been arrested after the 8-year-old girl who was snatched off the street was found in his hotel room.
Officers found Salem Sabatka, 8, at Texas hotel less than 8 miles away from where she was taken almost eight hours earlier.
The child had been out for a walk with her mother when a man suddenly snatched her off and put her in his vehicle.
Heartbreaking surveillance footage showed the girl’s mother jumping into the car trying to save her child before the man drove off.
The mother contacted 911, screaming: “Help me please, someone call the police, my daughter just got kidnapped.”
The suspect was described as a “light skinned black male of skinny build” and the vehicle as a dark gray sedan with alloy wheels.
The Amber alert included a photo of Salem wearing the same shirt she had on when she was kidnapped. U.S. Emergency Alert tweeted: “TEXAS: Amber Alert for 8-year-old Salem Sabatka, taken by force on 6th Avenue in Forth Worth. Call 911 if seen.”
Two people reported seeing a vehicle that matched the description of the alert in the parking area of the WoodSprings Suites hotel and immediately contacted police.
The girl was found safe but was brought to a hospital for a checkup, said Officer Buddy Calzada at the press conference.
Officers thanked the public for spreading the information about the kidnapper, allowing them to bring the girl home.
