It is not every day that a robbery incident ends up positively.

In this story, a man with dark intentions had a change of heart because of the words he heard.

An elderly woman became a victim of a thief during her usual shopping trip. But instead of simply giving her money away, she fought back with powerful words.

91-year-old Pauline Jacobi had gone shopping for groceries in Tennessee. After putting her items in her vehicle, she climbed into the driver’s seat.

The thief suddenly jumped into her car through the passenger door and demanded her money.

She told him three times that she wouldn’t give money. Pauline then started talking to him and said: “As quick as you hurt me I’ll go to heaven.”

The elderly woman also urged him to ask for the Lord’s forgiveness. “…Jesus is in this car and he goes with me everywhere I go.”

For ten minutes, Pauline sat talking to him in the parking lot. He then told her what he wanted to do that evening.

In an interview with Action News 5, Pauline said: “He says, I think I’ll go home and pray tonight. I says, ‘You don’t have to wait until tonight. You can pray anytime you want to.’”

Before he left, Pauline gave him all her money, which was ten dollars. She warned: “Don’t you go spend it on whiskey either.”

The man then thanked her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
