Fears about Gizmo, a Chihuahua that was snatched by a seagull, are growing.
The dog could have even been swallowed as a whole by the bird.
The owner of the 4-year-old Gizmo, Rebecca Hill, was distressed when the bird pounced and took off the miniature Chihuahua in its beak a few days ago.
The 24-year-old lady is wishing that her dog remains unhurt and can be brought back together with the two other dogs and the family at their home in Paignton in Devon.
Increasing everybody’s fear, the DogLost coordinator, Wayne May claims that it would not be out of the bird’s remit to swallow a dog of that size completely.
He further added that if the seagull is black-backed, then it is more than just capable of swallowing the dog.
According to May, the seagulls are aggressive predators.
A leading expert on urban seagulls, Peter Rock, stated that in case the seagulls are able to take a thing down their throats, then they are most likely to eat it.
Rock further says that seagulls can eat rabbits and pigeons whole and so this dog, which is the size of a rabbit, can be eaten. However, he still wishes that the girl gets her dog back.
After posting about the incident on Facebook, Becca was trolled and many even claimed that nothing as such would have happened.
Becca again posted that she does not feel good when she wakes up to her dog not licking her face.
Other than this, the woman uploaded another status on Facebook stating that if anybody finds a Chihuahua, it is hers, since she lost it when a seagull took the dog away from Maridon Road, Paignton.
Although fortunately, such attacks on dogs are rare, it is very saddening that Rebecca’s family has probably lost their dog.
