According to YouGov.org, an online research firm, Michelle has become the world’s most admired women, leaving Angelina Jolie behind.
Michelle replaced Jolie to secure the top spot, while her husband, Barack, placed second.
The popularity of Mr. and Mrs. Obama progressively increased even after Barack Obama completed his tenure in the White House.
Her journey to gain such fame and respect was never an easy part of her life. As she was harassed and faced bullying from Americans when her husband, Barack Obama, was president of the country. Her slogan, “When they go low, we go high”, depicts her approach of how she dealt with all that nasty stuff.
Michelle Obama belonged to the Southside of Chicago, attended Princeton. She was discouraged there by one of her counselors, “You are not Princeton Material”, But she knew the counselor was wrong.
She earned her place amongst the most popular and influential women in history. She was able to take full advantage of available resources with her wise approach. It is not fair to say that she waited for such titles to come, in fact, she earned it.
She played a crucial role while she was First Lady of America, as she led the campaign, “Let’s Move”, in order to reduce childhood obesity.
Moreover, she also actively ran Let’s Move! Active school campaign. She has always been a jolly person, such as she was often seen laughing and dancing with school students. She was not afraid to be silly and she always participated in healthy fun.
All of the above-mentioned qualities make her such an admired personality. Her grace, compassion and humble nature further add to her qualities.
Michelle stated in her book:
“It would be easy to think you’re something special. Just remember that there are millions of people who grew up just like you did and don’t get this kind of spotlight. Reflect the light back on them.”
Her book is considered to be the best-selling memoir in history as more than 10 million copies of her book are sold till now. In her book “Becoming”, she wrote about her life.
