There are somethings which you should refrain doing on an empty stomach.
Sometimes we don’t realize how much harm we are doing to ourselves by doing such things without having our meal. Here is the list of things you should not do on empty stomach:
1. Don’t Take Anti-Inflammatories
Aspirin, paracetamol, and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can cause serious health problems if you will take them on empty stomach. It reduces its effectiveness as well as causes health issues such as gastric bleeding.
2. Don’t Drink Coffee
Drinking coffee on an empty stomach could damage your stomach lining and cause indigestion and heartburn. Try to drink coffee in the mid-morning or early-afternoon for the best results.
3. Don’t Drink Alcohol
If you drink alcohol on an empty stomach, its absorption rate increases by a factor of 2 and is the same as during its intravenous injection. Don’t binge drink alcohol as it can cause bad effects on your health.
4. Don’t Chew Gum
Chewing gum on an empty stomach may lead to gastritis. Refrain yourself chewing the gum before eating something.
5. Don’t Go To Bed Without Eating
According to some studies, sleeping on an empty stomach slows your body’s ability to convert proteins into muscle. Skipping dinner results in eating more the next day which can cause weight gain.
6. Don’t Drink Citrus Juice
The acids in the orange juice can cause problems such as heartburn or a stomach ache. It is especially dangerous for those who have gastritis or are at risk of developing it. There is no danger of drinking orange juice in the morning as long as the acids don’t bother your stomach.
7. Don’t Argue Or Fight With Anybody
“Self-control takes a lot of fuel,” says Brad J. Bushman, PhD, an anger researcher, told. If you have not fed yourself and have a feeling of hunger then don’t indulge yourself into argument or fight.
