It is just amazing to see that there is kindness all around the world. People do such kind and heartwarming things for their community, which puts a significant impact on other people.
Charles Shaw, who is an entrepreneur, took the opportunity of turning a deserted school into a beautiful home for the entire community.
When Charles and his wife, Lisa brought the school 16 years back, it was in an awful state, but then they created a vision to change the whole place around. Charles saw it as an opportunity of turning the school into his dream home.
The abandoned school is now a gorgeous home for the community. It is known as the Smiley Building and has become a landmark in Durango for the other people. It is such a lovely space that you would want to live there.
The building takes around 45,000 sq. Foot area and initially the couple used to pay 5,000 dollars for the utility of the whole place.
Slowly, they started changing the lights into better and controlling ones, and they installed solar panels, which dropped their bill to around 300 dollars.
People love the space as it is lively, comfy, and beautiful. People have started different classes inside the building like yoga, theater, photography, digital, graphic designing, and much more.
There are various non-profit organizations also inside the building.
Sometimes people even take the space to have different workshops and exhibitions. The couple prefers renting the place to only artists who can help other people learn something new.
The couple also lives in the same building with their son, and they find it the most loving place in the whole world because they get to meet new people.
It is excellent how Charles one single thought turned the entire home into a joyful place for the community.
