The cases of animal cruelty are increasing day by day despite several measures taken by animal-lovers daily.
People seem to have found new ways of hurting the furry beings. This time it is a dog park that has been targeted.
A very popular dog park in Brisbane known by the name of Waterfront Dog Park has taken lives of eight dogs.
Someone whose aim is to kill these innocent animals has dropped pieces of poisoned meat all over the park. Several hungry pets have eaten the poisoned food and succumbed to death.
The animal shelters and locals are worried about who the sick murderer is.
Dogs are humans’ best friends and dog-owners lose a big part of their life with their dogs. It is heartbreaking for the owners to lose their companions abruptly.
Teresa Griffo is one of those who lost her best friend unknowingly, her beagle cross Berlin, and was distraught after the incident.
She said she does not want anyone else to go through the same thing. On Thursday afternoon, Berlin was playing in the dog park, and just after eight hours, the dog had to be put down after showing a range of symptoms.
Ms. Griffo was told by the vets that her beloved companion had ingested something that deteriorated her health. It was later inferred that the reason was poisoned meat chunks in the park after a picture of scattered meat pieces appeared online.
The meat is dark in color and experts believe that the meat has been poisoned and spread in the park by someone who wants to hurt pets in the area.
Kellie Jones Chihuahua cross corgie, Kiody, became another victim of this gruesome deed. It suffered from organ failure and paralysis after playing in the park. An Instagram page by the name of dogs.of.new.farm paid tribute to Kiody after posting a picture and warned the pet owners against taking their pets in the area.
Their post read that they did everything to save Kiody’s life but failed. The post further read that they did not wish to pass on such a warning to other pet owners but urged them to be careful in walking their fur babies in the area.
