An Elephant is an animal that lives their life while chewing on their food.
The animal is supposed to eat more and more to survive. They are biologically systemized to be fat and not skinny.
But it seems like cruel humans leave no way behind to mark their trace on each and every creature in the world, including this poor baby.
Heartbreaking pictures of a malnourished elephant have made its way to the social media and we cannot stop wondering about how the poor animal must be surviving.
A charity clicked pictures of Tikiri, a female elephant who was extremely fragile and weak but was forced to participate in a parade in Sri Lankan along with 60 other elephants. She was covered in a colorful robe that covered her entirely, not giving a peak to the audience and bystanders a look at her body.
The founder of Save Elephant Foundation, Lek Chailert, says that this elephant along with 60 others was forced to take part in a Buddhist festival called Esala Perahera, that happen in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Lek said “In her degrading condition, Tikiri has to come in early in the evening and has to walk till late night for 10 long kilometers. Her legs are short shackled that humans fail to notice because she is covered in her dazzling colorful costume.
No one notices the tears that flow down her eyes because of the mask that covers her face. For an elephant that severely malnourished, 10 km long walk becomes extremely exhausting.”
She says that it is a part of people’s faith and she would never mind people enjoying their faith until and unless a poor voiceless animal has to pay for it in the worst way possible.
